Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has reaffirmed his statement that Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa is competent to stand shoulder to shoulder with anybody in the 2015 general elections.
Obasanjo made the statement yesterday while signing a Memorandum of Understand (MoU) between Obasanjo Foundation and Jigawa State Government on girl child education at Dutse, the state capital.
He explained that going by governor Lamido’s political background, he could provide competent leadership that will save Nigeria from the present chaos.
“Though he didn’t tell me his mind, but for now, what I know is that with all experiences, track record and term of exemplary leadership he exhibited in his six years as a governor in Jigawa State, he can stand shoulder to shoulder with any politician in this country.”
Recall that last year, a former president made a similar statement about Governor Lamido, when he described him as his political son and the most competent leader to rule Nigeria.
He maintained that Nigeria’s current situation needed a qualitative leader, who will deal with the insecurity in the nation and bail out the citizens.
On the abducted schoolgirls at Chibok, Obasanjo condemned the act and appealed to the insurgents to consider their future role to the nation.
He finally said, the foundation have chooses five areas of importance for the development of Africa including Educational sector,health,food and Nutrition security,Youth employment and leadership quality and training.
